Lusheng Festivals and Tiaohua Festival

Lusheng is so prevailed in Miao community in many aspects that they spend Lusheng festival across the province. Having busied with farming over the last year, villagers, temporarily escaped from burdens, wholly dedicate to the celebration for this festival. Stunning costumes with layers of silver lead quiet villages to be vivid and colorful through history seems stopped for them for years. People dance in circle all day long trying to show their vivid life and to be focused on.

There are many activities between autumn and next spring. Similarly to Han people, it covers offering sacrifice to ancestor, celebrating good harvest, having social party and courtship and bull fight.

There are many names for such festival, such as Tiaohua(Dance Flower).

A unique life experience in minority family in southwest China

Day 1 Liping-zhaoxing (first contact with a Dong family
Plane to Liping, the capital of Dong ethnic. Then go to Zhaoxing village, like a gem in the mountain. The village is filled by the beautiful Dong ethnic style wood house, roofed bridge and drum tower and looks like in the fairytale. Find a family and meet the family member, then stay in the family and have the first dinner.

Last memory of traditional textile

Despite their spectacular scenery, large parts of Guizhou are still very poor and are very difficult to reach. This relative isolation has enabled many minority groups in the area to retain their rich cultural heritage and preserve ethnic distinctiveness. In the more remote parts traditional textiles are still very much a part of daily life, in other areas they are used extensively at festival times. The Miao’s elaborate festival costumes are not only their most important possessions, but can be considered the major living visual art form of their culture.

Tribes in karst peaks

Day 1, arrive Guiyang.

Day 2, bus to Ziyun. Discover the old Han Chinese in stone castle, and appreciate the Ground Opera. They are the descendants of soldiers from today’s Nanjing east of china in Ming dynasty. Being pride of forefather’s advanced culture, they, especially female, still dress blue robe, which was typical garment and imperial color of Ming dynasty. The soldiers also brought the opera to Guizhou to entertain them. It used to be the ancestor of Beijing opera playing on ground. In the afternoon, discover the Horn Miao.

Day 3, Ziyun bus to Wangmo. Discover the White Miao and Yao, and experience authentic ethnic markets, which assemble a variety of tribes as the Buyi and the Yao. Any expected or unexpected suppose to appear.
